The Father Lopez Nava was the one who signed the law of Confiscation of Ecclesiastical Goods, after this he began teaching in the Council Seminary of this city; he was sent later the town of Mapimí; after a year of service he returned to Guadalajara and appeared before bishop Aranda dressed in leather and a hat made out of palm.

Bishop Aranda very surprised asked him, "Isn't aything else than leather of "chivos" and deers over there?,inmediately he sent one of its servants to his tailor asking him to made all the clothing Mr. Nava required. 15 days after the tailor appeared with the check, which was more than $ 1.800,00, when seeing it the bishop almost went backwards and he said to the tailor, "have you dressed an entire army, that you are asking so much money of me?", the tailor explained to him that Mr. Nava ordered much clothes of very fine cloth, only the frock coats were average dozen. Aranda did not have another remedy but that to pay the account. They tell that from that day on , when somebody arrived with the note from something and that the total was expensive, the bishop Diego Aranda said, "but man, this is more expensive than the frock coats of the father Lopez Nava".
